The Name
Deneb is a blog about building and making in the age of AI — written by an engineer turned DevOps leader, manager, and founder who is actually doing it, not just commenting on it.
The Author
Sam Rowe is an Engineer / Founder / DevOps expert / Leader with a focus on the full software development lifecycle. He is interested in how AI is reshaping the way software is designed, built, tested, and deployed — and what that means for the humans doing that work. As well as the broader implications of AI in the world.
You can find him on GitHub and LinkedIn.
The Mission
This blog exists to document and explore this wonderful world of building with AI. What it unlocks, how it can free humans to be more and what it can do to chain us to new ways of working if we are not careful.
Topics include:
- AI in the software development lifecycle
- The changing role of the software engineer
- Tools, workflows, and patterns that actually work
- The craft of building things well
- AI in the real world
- Futurism and speculative thinking about the world in which AI changes our environment
AI Transparency
Posts on this blog are written with AI assistance. That is part of the story, not something to obscure. Every post that involves AI collaboration is clearly labelled, and the nature of that collaboration is explained where relevant. The thinking is human. The refinement is a partnership.
Insight
AI-assisted writing is not a shortcut — it is a different kind of work. The hardest part is still forming the opinion worth writing about.
Confidence: High
